The Old Timber YardMaiden Bradley, Wiltshire
The Old Timber Yard is a spaciously laid out development of eight newly built properties and two refurbished cottages, ranging from 2 to 4 bedrooms situated in Maiden Bradley, close to Frome with glorious views of the surrounding countryside. While LHC’s architects worked on the individual house-types, LHC Graphics were commissioned to design and produce bespoke marketing materials, sales particulars, marketing visualisations and a website for this high-end development.
Firstly, LHC Graphics were instructed to develop a brand identity for the development and an accompanying brand guide. The brand, which was to be applied across all other project deliverables from the wayfinding signage to the website, needed to celebrate the site’s heritage and rural location while representing the luxuriousness of the development to potential buyers.
The brand combined crisp and intriguing photographic elements, a rich colour palette, and a pairing of serif and sans-serif typefaces to create an aesthetic that was subtle and unobtrusive ensuring that, while appearing modern with a sense of intrigue, it still wouldn’t look out of place for the small rural location.
Wayfinding and Site Signage
The site is situated in a secluded and set-back location from the main route through Maiden Bradley, so developing clear and appealing wayfinding and site signage was key from the outset. The challenge that first presented itself was that the site signage needed to remain unimposing to the rest of the village, as Maiden Bradley sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
During the construction stage of the development, the signage and wayfinding solutions were designed to direct prospective buyers, and contractors to the site, but it was important that any physical structures built for the initial signage could be repurposed once the development was finished.
“The team at LHC were very helpful from start to finish when creating our housing development brochure, signage, website and branding. Alex, Phil and Rupert kept us well-informed throughout the process and worked closely with us to ensure we were 100% satisfied with our products. They were always happy to jump on a Zoom or telephone call whenever we had any questions or potential changes and we are so pleased with the finished products. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for design work.”
Zoe Hickson, Stonevale Homes
Our 3D Visualisation team produced marketing visualisations for each of the individual house types, as well as a small selection around the site as well. The visualisations were used to present prospective buyers with the proposed design of their houses on the plot before construction. This was to give them an idea of what they were getting at an early stage and therefore to inform their decision to purchase.
Following the brand development and production of the marketing visualisations, we produced a bespoke marketing brochure, designed to showcase the development and each of the individual plots to prospective buyers. It featured proposed specifications, floor plans, and visualisations for each of the individual plots, as well as information about the development as a whole, the developer – Stonevale Homes – and also Maiden Bradley and the surrounding area.
The website followed the marketing brochure, collating information that was present in the physical brochure and giving the development a digital presence and contact point. Each plot was presented on its own individual page within the website and featured all the key information that prospective buyers might need to know at a glance when comparing each of the plots. It also provided a further contact point with the estate agents for further details and to book viewings/start conversations about specific plots.
