We were commissioned by The Ernest Cook Trust & Gloucestershire County Council to prepare a strategic masterplan and vision for Wisloe – a new garden settlement of 1,500 homes in Gloucestershire.

Project Vision
Wisloe will be a sustainable new garden community which has a distinctive identity, is connected to its landscape setting, facilitates a healthy and high-quality life for its residents, and delivers enhanced facilities for existing communities.
Design Approach
The masterplan has community at it’s heart and has been informed by a comprehensive consultation process. This has enabled local issues and needs to be considered in preparation of a responsive masterplan. As a new garden settlement, green infrastructure plays a central role in shaping the development form and connecting the new neighbourhoods. Community infrastructure including; a new village centre, business units and primary school are proposed.
Sustainability Approach
The network of Green Spaces and connected Green Corridors across Wisloe will be designed to enhance biodiversity and maximise amenity benefits. Walkable neighbourhoods and Traffic free cycle routes and footpaths will be created to promote active travel. New low carbon and net-zero housing will be delivered alongside potential micro and district wide renewables energy generation.
