Plymouth College of Art Refurbishment

The Plymouth College of Art refurbishment project included external improvements and branding to the Tavistock Place building; new gallery, entrance and foyer, together with improvements to the landscape and public realm around the building, much of the work completed while the campus was still operational.

The exterior has been re-clad with a striking black and white colour scheme, in line with College’s re-brand. This not only gives the college a stunning fresh appearance and a higher profile public presence, but it also improves the environmental performance of the existing building.

At night the building will take on a more dramatic appearance as lighting to both the building and its landscape has been designed to create a more dynamic mood, in contrast to its daytime personality.
