Alex Ford
Landscape Architect
Alex joined LHC in 2020 after graduating with First Class Honours in Landscape Architecture from Birmingham City University. Since then, she has continually expanded her expertise in the field, building on her academic foundation and gaining practical experience through part-time work at the award-winning commercial and domestic plant grower, Urban & Rural Plants. This hands-on role has enhanced her knowledge of horticulture and effective planting design, allowing her to integrate nature with built environments in creative and functional ways.
With a deep passion for soft landscaping and planting, Alex focuses on creating spaces that offer healing and restorative benefits to users. She is driven by a belief in the powerful connection between people and the natural world, and works to design landscapes that promote wellbeing by immersing individuals in environments that nourish both body and mind.
Over the years, Alex has contributed to a diverse range of projects, including bespoke crematorium sites, expansive public esplanades, and significant public realm projects such as the National Marine Park in Plymouth or The Wave Project, Bristol. Her experience also extends to large-scale residential housing developments, where she applies her expertise to create sustainable, vibrant, and harmonious outdoor spaces.
