Kingsteignton Retail Park

Kingsteignton, Devon

Kingsteignton Retail Park is a retail refurbishment scheme undertaken by LHC in two phases. The project involved the major remodelling of a large, disused Homemaker furniture store to create six new retail units to serve Kingsteignton and Newton Abbot.

By reconfiguring and re-cladding, adding mezzanines and general updating we enhanced the look of the site; improved performance and extended its useful lifespan. Both phases were delivered on time and on budget, with Phase 1 completing in January 2012. Phase 2 was handed over just before Christmas 2012 and involved a second, smaller furniture store which we divided into two further units including a cafe and large retail space.

Several challenges were overcome with careful design including contamination and the potential for flooding.
