Working in the Chard High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) within this historic town centre setting, our team have undertaken extensive consultation with various stakeholders including Historic England and Council Heritage officers, to develop fully costed RIBA stage 3 & 4 proposals for the £1.1m scheme covering Fore Street, Holyrood Street, Boden Street and the Eastern Gateway .

The scheme comprises locally sourced Forest Pennant paving, the retention and enhancement of the unique and historic water rill found within the streetscape, new street tree planting, a new gateway space, and widened footways to improve the pedestrian setting. LHC worked with Hydrock and Coreus on the proposals and the scheme will commence construction in September 2021.
