organicARTS – Our Charity of the Year 2023

LHC Design is immensely proud to be supporting organicARTS. A unique educational charity that is close to our hearts.

In an enchanting rural idyll just three miles from Exeter, organicArts offers creative farm-based learning for the community. Educating the public on farming, rural issues, environmental issues, and the arts in an inclusive and nurturing environment.

With a broad range of objectives, among them teaching children about the local environment and where their food comes from; to reducing social isolation and supporting adults who might be vulnerable through mental and physical health challenges.

The charity is run by a passionate, experienced, and creative team of educators, artists and volunteers. Together they offer the opportunity to explore the farm, plant vegetables, make soup, press apples, weave willow, make pots, attend workshops and much more besides. It is immeasurable how much these activities contribute to emotional, physical, and social wellbeing

The majority of materials for these activities are sourced from the farm directly, organicArts champions sustainable and organic principles and embraces the circular economy. Alongside their community focus and ground-breaking initiatives, they were a natural choice for our charity partner and a fitting tribute to remember Andrew Sanders, the late father of our Associate Director – Phil Sanders.

Andrew was a dedicated supporter and advocate of the organization using his gardening knowledge and wonderful people skills to create a welcoming, non-judgmental space where everyone is valued and listened to.

The LHC Design team enjoys getting their hands dirty, so over the coming year we will be supporting this precious community group through a range of fundraising events and initiatives. The money raised will be used to care for the environment, improve their facilities and enhance the experience of participants.

With your help, these donations can make a real difference. Immediate needs for organicARTS are new composting toilets to avoid overuse of water, and an insulated ceiling to keep their grain barn warm for winter activities.

Help us smash our 2k target so we can help to fund Organics Art’s mission to support and educate local individuals. Providing the opportunity to learn about how wildlife and the environment can work together with farming to protect our future.
