Christmas is a time for family, laughter and making memories. At Hospiscare, they’re determined that patients and families spending the festive holidays on their ward in Exeter experience the very best Christmas, one that they will cherish forever. However, Hospiscare’s income has been hard hit by the pandemic and the hospice is facing a loss of £1 million this year, so the support of the local community has never been needed more.
LHC Design is proud to be taking part in Hospiscare’s 12 Days of Care, helping this fantastic organisation to provide their award-winning care to families facing terminal illnesses this December.
Hospiscare have been supporting people with a life-limiting illness for almost 40 years and in that time they’ve expanded their area to cover Exeter, Mid and East Devon. If you’ve been diagnosed with any type of terminal illness, their expert doctors and nurses are there to help with support at home, a specialist palliative care ward, day hospices and end-of-life care.
The team supports over 2,000 people each year, in some of the hardest times possible. As a local charity, they need to raise around £8 million a year to continue to provide care, and they rely on the generous support of local people and communities.
Over 1,000 volunteers and regular donors and supporters help Hospiscare to help people when they’re most in need, no matter what their individual circumstances may be. Care is rated as ‘five star’ by patients and families across Devon and as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.
