Outline planning consent for the Exeter College Hele Road masterplan was approved unanimously on 29th July at Exeter City Council planning committee.
LHC Design worked with the client and consultant team including Avison Young, KTA and Cotswold Archaeology to develop a long term masterplan framework and comprehensive landscape strategy for the Hele Road campus.
The landscape-led campus will deliver a new landscape spine running through the campus that will improve pedestrian links between St.David’s Station and the city centre, new entrance gardens and landscaped courtyards.
We have concurrently produced detailed landscape designs for the first phase of the wider masterplan, which will deliver a new Digital & Data Centre (Institute of Technology) and new entrance gardens. The first phase of development is supported by central government through its plan to deliver Institutes of Technology across the country and will be commencing on site in 2020 subject to detailed planning consent.
