Public consultation on new homes at former Royal Manor College, Portland

A public consultation event will be held at Portland Summer Fete on Saturday 28th July 2.00pm – 5.00pm. It will invite feedback from the local community on the proposed housing development at the former Royal Manor College, Easton.

The consultation will take the form of an informal discussion, with plans and images of the proposed housing scheme on display. It will be hosted by Homes England, alongside LHC Architecture + Urbanism and Peter Brett Associates.

Homes England is a public body with a clear remit to facilitate the delivery of new homes where they are most needed, including the provision of affordable homes.

The masterplan shows a potential development layout, which will eventually form part of an outline planning application. This masterplan sets important parameters against which a final layout will be assessed.

The masterplan has been designed by LHC and takes account of scale, alignment and dimensions of streets; relationships to the existing development edge; key views to neighbouring open space; access and routes to the surrounding areas.

The feedback gathered at the exhibition, and from the online survey, will be used to help shape the final design of the development before the planning application is submitted to Weymouth and Portland Borough Council. Come along to Portland Summer Fete, Weston Playing Fields and have your say on the outline layout,  or visit the online questionnaire and leave your feedback.
