LHC is delighted once again to be a sponsor of the annual TEDxExeter event, which next year will take place on 21 April 2017 at Exeter’s Northcott Theatre and at live stream events around the city.
What is TED? TED is a nonprofit organisation devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today its global conference programme covers almost all topics, from science to business to global issues. The TED website, TED.com, is a platform for watching, sharing and discussing these compelling TED Talks.
What is TEDx? Independently run TEDx events, such as the annual TEDxExeter conference, help share ideas in communities around the world. At a TEDx event, a combination of live presenters and TED Talk videos, spark deep conversation and inspire change at a local level. To date more than 13,000 independent TEDx events have been held in 150 countries.
And TEDxExeter? Next year will see the sixth event in Exeter. TEDxExeter is a not-for-profit initiative; all speakers and entertainers take part on a no-fee basis, and the event is organised and run by a small team of volunteers. On 21 April 2017 the team will bring together another exceptional group of speakers in Exeter’s Northcott Theatre, and at live stream events around the city. LHC is proud to be part of the team of sponsors who help to make this happen, and feel strongly that the TEDxExeter vision is one which resonates and is championed here at LHC.
