Jacob Shaw

Part 2 Architectural Assistant

Jacob first joined us for his RIBA Part One and has returned as a Part 2 Architectural Assistant after achieving a First Class (Distinction) in both the Bachelor (BA) and Master of Architecture (MArch) degrees at the University of Plymouth.

During his Master’s, he won several awards, including the University of Plymouth Design Award and Urban Methodologies Award. In the following year, he received the prestigious nomination for the RIBA Silver Medal Award and the KTA Design Award for design work based in Sudan. This project was exhibited to highlight the hopeful prospects of Sudan in lieu of past and present conflict. He sees design as a tool to respond to the dialogue between people and place.

Since returning, Jacob has been working on Shepherds Wharf, a new high-rise set to redefine Plymouth’s Waterfront quarter.
